Following the core concept of the collection, Stilt Bed with its minimal look was designed to maximize relaxing comfort as well as deliver intuitive elegance, projecting the idea of an embrace, a haven. Leaning against the collection's signature oak frame, the headboard, fully upholstered front and back with thick padding, provides an incredibly comfortable and welcoming support, a sensation exalted by the aesthetics of the soft cover and contoured silhouette. The tailoring finishes and finely crafted steel elements at the back transform the Stilt Bed into a refined centerpiece in solitary when placed in the middle of the room.

Toan Nguyen
Toan Nguyen describes himself as a French citizen and an Italian designer. After graduating from ENSCI in Paris in 1995 and gaining professional experience in Paris, Barcelona and Milan, he founded his eponymous studio in Milan in 2009. Since then, he has developed a body of work spanning furniture, lighting, ceramics and technology, with numerous projects receiving prestigious international design awards.
For Toan Nguyen, design is a discipline intimately bound up with the object, in the traditional sense of the term. Priority is given to the physical relationship with the user: immediate legibility of use, intelligible forms and optimized manufacturing processes take precedence, without ever neglecting the sensuality of materials or the emotional impact of the object.
Given his Vietnamese heritage on his father's side and his experience in furniture design, his collaboration with District Eight felt like it was meant to be.
